This speech was delivered at Adrian's memorial celebration on July 29, 2013, by grandson Sam.

It's a hard thing to do; writing a speech for an occasion such as this. But, what follows is the best I could do given the circumstances.

Firstly, on behalf of the grandchildren of Adrian; Stephanie, Jack, Alex and myself, we all feel that he was such an integral part of all of our lives and that we wouldn't be who we are now without him. And while this is the most unfortunate of events, we nearly lost him five years ago. Alex, the youngest of us, would only have been 6.

To us he was an inspirational, unquestionable, wizard-like man who knew the answer to all of our questions and was never satisfied with how much we'd learnt from him.

He will be dearly missed to the nth degree and will never be forgotten by his currently sooky grandkids.
